On the 24th June 2025, groups afflilated to the Homes for Us coalition – including SHAC – gathered in Manchester to protest outside the Housing 2025 event. The conference brings together housing policy-makers and those working in the sector, including companies wanting to sell their products and services to housing executives.
The protestors met up by Manchester Central Library and marched along to the conference centre. Security staff tried to stop us getting onto the concourse.
We set up our banners and placards, and began our chants and speeches.
Quite a few event attendees came out to watch and listen – we must have been more entertaining than what was going on inside.
We moved up the concourse to make sure our voices were heard.
